Swimming


Regents offers Swim Team for the following:

  • Elementary    (1st - 6th grade)

  • JV    (7th - 9th grade)

  • Varsity    (10th - 12th grade)

  • Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yds without assistance.

  • Practices are held at the Turner Center pool. (Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3p-4p)

         Monday, Wednesday and Friday:     4th - 12th grades
         Monday and Friday only :    1st - 3rd grades

Regents will compete in:  Inter-squad Meet (Sept. 9th) time all team members

                                             Starkville Academy Meet (Sept. 16th) ***

                                             Regents Invitational Meet (Sept.23rd)

                            MAIS Championship State Meet on October 5th in Laurel, MS  ***

*** Note that these meets have swimmer limits.  We will let you know after the inter-squad meet if your child will have a qualifiying time to compete.


 

Fall swim team practice schedule: 

         August 8th - October 3rd

 *Monday, Wednesday and Friday : 4th - 12th grade

All new and returning swimmers are invited to join us at the Turner Center.  Drop off is in the rear of the Turner Center.  Please remember that if you plan to park and come in, you will need to purchase a parking pass from UM.  They are $20.00 for a full year.  If you are parked anywhere on campus without this, you will receive a ticket and maybe even a boot!! I have the paperwork that you will need to fill out.  If you have any questions concerning swim please do not hesitate to call Belinda or Dawn.  We would love to see your child there.

2010-2011 Swim Team

The 2010/2011 lions swam well this season.  They finished in 2nd place, with a total of 116 points, just 2 points behind TCPS in the Regional meet held in Oxford, MS.  At the state meet held in Laurel, MS,  they finished 8th in the elementary division out of 16 schools and 9th overall out of 23 schools.   Our lions received 14 individual ribbons ( 7 of these were in the butterfly )  and 12 relay team ribbons.  Wow!  Congratulations lions on a great season!!!
