Students progress through a series of phonetic readers from A Beka Books and Veritas Press at their own pace, progressing to more advanced books as each student is ready.

Teacher read-aloud books may include:

  • Stone Soup
  • My Father’s Dragon
  • The Mouse and the Motorcycle

Language arts skills learned are:

Journal writing, capitalization, end marks, composition of sentences

Math skills are found in:

Saxon Math for 1st Grade
