Fourth Grade Trip to Atlanta

Mrs. Carr's fourth grade class from last year took a two night trip to Atlanta, Georgia. They spent the first day at Medieval Times where they dined while enjoying a show with Medieval Knights who set out to rescue a young prince who had been kidnapped. Our school cheered on the knights (especially the "Black and White knight") as they competed in Medieval games, jousted, fought bravely with sword and shield, and eventually rescued the prince and returned him to his young bride. The second day, the class went to a Renaissance Fair. They heard people talk about Davinci and Shakespeare, while learning about chivalry and superstitions during that time. It was like stepping back into time, and experiencing what life was like at a Renaissance Festval. It was a great trip!

In fourth grade, the students begin their study of Zoology as they study Flying Creatures. From the study of birds to insects, they learn about flight, common Mississippi birds and calls, the parts of the birds, and so on!
