Regents School of Oxford named Dr. Michael L. Johnson Headmaster in June of this year. "After a nationwide search, we are blessed to welcome Dr. Johnson to Regents. His wisdom, grace, eloquence and experience are exactly what Regents was looking for," stated David Brummett, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Dr. Johnson has had an extensive career in classical Christian education. Most recently, he served as Headmaster at Cair Paravel Latin School in Topeka, Kansas, a classical Christian school of approximately 300 students. Prior to his tenure at Cair Paravel, Dr. Johnson was Headmaster at Westminster Academy in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to his leadership roles at both of these schools, Dr. Johnson taught Latin, Greek, Rhetoric and Logic.

Dr. Johnson has a Doctorate in Counseling, a Master of Arts in Classical Civilization (Major in Greek and Latin), a Master of Divinity (Major in Greek and Theology), and a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Dr. Johnson serves on the Board for the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), a nationwide accreditation organization dedicated to establishing an educational standard for a unified and directed approach to classical and Christian learning.

In addition to Dr. Johnson's extensive resume, he has strong Oxford roots. After graduating from the University of Mississippi and finishing seminary in Memphis, he was ordained as a pastor at North Oxford Baptist Church. Additionally, Dr. Johnson’s wife, Carolyn, is a native of Oxford. Dr. Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for his new position, "To serve at Oxford's only classical Christian school is truly a blessing. I am getting an opportunity to help mothers and fathers rear their children in a gospel centered environment, with a classically rich tradition with the purpose of serving in Christ's Kingdom. I could not be happier."
